Thank you to all those who attended and supported the second annual Taste of Tabor – a delicious good deed – Chef’s Showcase event on May 22, 2017. The proceeds of this event are directly assisting more than 600 local youth transition onto independent lives.
More than 250 guests and 40 volunteers enjoyed a lively evening of gourmet food from the area’s finest restaurants. Eleven Tabor youth had the opportunity to work directly with these restaurants and help prepare gourmet samplings for you to enjoy. The evening’s music was provided by Diversity, the Lenape student Jazz band and youth singer and songwriter Kayla Avatable … and they were fantastic!
Fully independent Tabor graduate and Temple University graduate, Nefertari “Tari” Sloan, returned to the event this year to MC and introduce our two 2017 youth speakers. The youth identified Tabor as, “an institution of investments.” Their success is your success. They reminded us all that, “when people support by giving their homes, their time, their service, donations, and support – they are essentially making an investment in children, youth, and future success stories, just like them.” We couldn’t be prouder!
Active enthusiasm during our auction items and live appeal was contagious. We are grateful for the level of commitment so many have to the Tabor mission and vision. Please join us next year!
